The Carpet Cleaning Organizations

!±8± The Carpet Cleaning Organizations

If you are considering having your carpet or upholstery cleaned you might be wondering about the carpet cleaning industry. Are they regulated? Is their any official organization? Well yes, there are a couple of different organizations. Read this article to learn a little about the main two organizations and what they do to further the industry.

One of the best known carpet cleaning organizations is the IICRC. IICRC stands for the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification. The IICRC was formed back in 1972 to serve as an independent certification body. This non profit organization tries to promote high standards and ethics in the carpet cleaning industry. The IICRC approves schools and instructors to teach classes and administer certification programs. It offers a variety of different classes and offers many different levels of education.

Another organization of the carpet and rug cleaning industry is the CRI or the Carpet and Rug Institute. The CRI's mission is to prove how our lives are made better by carpet and rugs. They sponsor research and educational programs to further the science behind the industry and to educate consumers on the carpet and rug industry.

As you can see the carpet cleaning industry is more organized than you might think. Unfortunately not every carpet cleaner is required to join an organization. Only those who take pride in their business and want to maintain the highest level of education choose to participate. Perhaps next time you have your carpet cleaned you should choose one of those companies.
